Building the artist drum series we choose the finest african rosewood, already knowing of its excellence – but as we made the first bashful hits we counldn’t believe our ears how rich and warm these shells sounded. As a next step we carefully thought about the shells finish. We decided that nothing should influence this wood badly – so we treat our shells only with purely natural oils of the orange tree and finally provided an organic wax layer. By this means the material keeps its individual attributes and is protected perfectly.

To finalize the artist drum set we conpleted it with kirchhoff bearing edges, assembled fine hardware with R.I.M. like tom mountings and REMO Renaissance heads.

Acoustic features: Bubinga (or african rosewood) has a warmer sound than the most other woods. It is rich and warm with dominant mid-range frequencies, yet its fundamental pitch is higher than maple. It favors a looser tuning and goes low, but loses overtones when tuned high.

The Kirchhoff Schlagwerk artist series is available in shell sizes from 8” to 22” and in several set combinations. The pure five piece shellset starts with an incredible retail price of recommended 1599,- EUR.

Arctic Series



  Feel arctic blue.

Kirchhoff Schlagwerk was inspired by famous colors and created the first new tone of some new arctic colors coming soon - complete series 5000 and 7000 are available in blue from now.

Similar to the clear series not only the shells are made of acrylic but the bassdrum hoops are build out of massive acrylic too. That feature is kind of unique.

Antique Series

The antique series k-oyster is a dedication to all artist who want to play a drum kit with that brilliant Kirchhoff Schlagwerk sound and look. Therefore we created marvellous birch shells that offer a unique kind of dynamic with a definite sound.

Birch provides a great clarity and you will feel a voluminous and present projection. For the finish we developed our own discrete look of black oyster – called the k-oyster. The Kirchhoff Schlagwerk antique series is available in different configurations:

Kirchhoff Schlagwerk antique 4000/ 20 k-oyster consists of the following shell sizes 20“x18“ BD, 14“x14“ ST, 12““x9“TT and 14“x 5.5“ SN for a recommended retail price of 599,- EUR incl. a basis hardwareset.

Kirchhoff Schlagwerk antique 5000/22 k-oyster This five piece set consists of 22“ x18“BD, 16“x16“ST, 13x10“TT, 12“x9“TT, 14“x5.5“ SN incl. basis hardwareset.
